Happy Spring to all in the River Valley! The warm weather has arrived and one can only hope for a long spring and summer season here in Maine.
Congratulations go out to Brian & Jessica Nicols of Brian’s Bistro; the Chamber’s 2009 Business of the Year! Their business is featured in the June issue of Down East Magazine. Stop in and congratulate them while enjoying the great food and atmosphere. It’s always nice to see someone you know who is working really hard to provide a great service to our area get recognized for their talents.
Memorial weekend is upon us and already the Rumford Information Center has been visited by tourists stopping by our area. Memorial weekend is the start of the tourist season and the Information Center volunteers are ready to share their knowledge of our area with all who stops by. We are taking applications for volunteers to man the center during these busy times. If you are looking to meet new people from all over the world, have knowledge of the area and have at least 4 hours a week of free time, we NEED you. Drop into the Information Center and fill out an application today!

The 8th Annual Franklin Savings Bank, Chamber/Rotary Golf Tournament slated for July 6th is underway. The committee has been working very diligently on this years’ event. The committee is looking for prizes in the way of gift certificates, product, or cash donations with a value of at least $25. For more information on this call Rich Allen or Deb Dorr at 364-7866.
